10:30 AM Anchor aweigh in Setauket Harbor.
11:30 AM Buoy 11A off Old Field—Turned engine off—1 hour run time on engine.
11:50 AM Engine on again—Slow sailing progress between Old Field and Crane’s Neck.
12:00 Noon Crane’s Neck—Engine still on.
12:05 PM Crane’s Neck passing mark.
12:20 PM Power off ~ 3.5 miles from 11A buoy.
12:50 PM Power on, Smithtown Bay.
13:00 PM Power off—Wind shift to SW.
13:10 PM Sailing off King’s Park Hospital towers.
14:10 PM Sailing off Callahan’s Beach?
15:10 PM Sailing off Crab Meadow.
15:35 PM Northport power stacks in line.
16:10 PM Eaton’s Neck, Lloyd Harbor.
16:40 PM Tack in mid-Sound, in line with Norwalk Stack—Wind increased to ~9 mph apparent—Boat beating at ~ 4.5 knots.
17:20 PM Huntington Bay—Wind dropped to 6 mph apparent—Boat speed 3.5 knots.
18:00 PM Anchored in Lloyd Harbor—Went for a swim and had supper.
= 7 ½ hours, Port Jeff to Lloyd Harbor. Anchor to anchor, engine time, 1 ½ hours +.
